De algemene sterrenbeoordeling van een skigebied hier is geen simpel gemiddelde, maar houdt rekening met meerdere factoren – waaronder de leeftijd van de beoordeling.
Ze hadden een skiles, dus ze sneden iedereen af bij de kleinere heuvel. Ik was daar om mijn dochter van drie te leren skiën en ze sneden steeds voor ons, met acht of tien mensen tegelijk, wat het erg moeilijk maakte. We kwamen er om 11.00 uur en tot 17.00 uur aan en ik denk dat we maar tien keer op en neer over het vliegende tapijt zijn gegaan, omdat we zo lang moesten wachten. Bovendien werkt hun kaart niet zoals het hoort, dus je moet hem elke keer uit je zak halen en daar opvouwen als ze willen overstappen op het systeem. Ze hebben een systeem nodig dat goed werkt, of ze gaan terug naar de oude manier, zodat mensen daadwerkelijk krijgen waar ze voor hebben betaald. De taco-foodtruck buiten was absoluut geweldig. We hebben ook de skybridge gedaan, en ze laadden maar één op de vijf liften in een rij, het duurde erg lang en na de skybridge stonden we bovenaan vast of wachtten we meer dan anderhalf uur om weer naar beneden te gaan, samen met vele anderen. Uiteindelijk zijn we lopend de heuvel af gegaan, ondanks dat we voor de lift betaald hadden. De parkeerplaats was echt heel grappig. Voor het geld dat we ervoor betaald hebben, zouden ze op een echte parkeerplaats ook wel moeten passen.

We woonden hier vroeger, maar ze maken het zo duur dat we nu andere opties zoeken. Hun klantenservice is enorm achteruitgegaan en de prijzen voor alles, van eten tot tickets, accommodatie en voordelen, zijn gestegen!

De prijs was te hoog voor de sneeuwsituatie. De pistes die open waren, waren prima en functioneerden prima. De wachtrijen bij de liften waren prima. Het personeel was aardig. Het eten was te duur, maar wel redelijk goed.

Ze zijn verre van druk. Er ligt niet veel sneeuw (niemands schuld), maar het personeel is er niet blij mee en maakt er geen leuke ervaring van voor de weinige mensen die er zijn. Misschien wordt hun fooi gedrukt door de prijzen. Misschien worden ze niet genoeg betaald voor hun vriendelijkheid. Deze plek zou fantastisch kunnen zijn.

Skied here for the first time on Dec 28th and stayed in Clock Tower Lodge. First, the skiing: They said they have 17 runs open, but this place calls every little segment of a run a different run – they effectively have less than half that amount. The trails are poorly groomed and hence increasingly icy throughout day, and there was no grooming between day and night skiing despite the icy conditions. If you are with any inexperienced skiers and take them to any blue run, they will be bombarded by kids bombing the slope with little regard for other’s safety or abilities. Worst of all is how crowded and oversold this place is. The lift lines are absurd, and they massively oversell the number of lift tickets. Obviously I went during a peak time, but I have skied for 20 years in MI at this same time of year and never experienced crowding like this. Second, the lodging: It was awful. The building we were in is very old, musty, cramped, and has essentially no sound proofing – expect to be crammed in an undersized room and hear what’s going on in rooms around you, floors above you, and in the hallways too. Of course the peak prices meant the room was over 300 dollars pre-taxes, but at that price one expects better accommodations than an old roadside motel. My overall impression was that Boyne Mtn is more for show than for skiing.

Paid $108 dollars for a one day lift ticket. Less than 30% of the mountain open and they are still charging this much. Also, after being encouraged to purchase lift tickets online to “save time” all the machines to print them were out of order or out of media so couldn’t had to stand in a long line anyway. Some like lines were over 30 minutes. Spent almost $150 on a 2 person lunch with 2 drinks…Definitely not a good value for the money. From now on I will be looking elsewhere.

I live two miles away from the resort and have been skiing here for over forty years. I remember the days when Boyne was king (when Everett Kircher was alive). Boyne used to groom the whole mountain every night. The snowmaking and grooming were impeccable. No more! We kept looking for a decent run and never found one. My friends have been driving from Boyne City to Boyne Highlands or Nubs Nob to ski and drive right by Boyne Mountain on their way. I used to prefer the Mountain, I will join them on their 45 minute drive to Highlands from now on. The Mountain is more about real estate now, skiing is an afterthought.
Also a lift attendant on the 6 place high speed was hard core on masks, literally yelling at people to pull their masks up. Not courteous at all. I guess this was his chance to show his immense power!
Keep driving, better skiing is up the road....

Very disappointed and upset about the lack of safety and security at this expensive ski resort. We had two new snowboards stolen from right outside our rentals front door. Guest services gave nothing but the run around about our situation. Security is practically non existant. No one knows the policy about theft for this resort. There are no lockers for locking up your ski equipment. There are no signs saying to use the caddy’s at your own risk.
I have never had a theft of equipment before. We have skied at multiple resorts.
Every rental here uses their outside ski caddy for storing their skis/boards over night, as we did, and then this theft happens, and no one at the resort has concern for our situation.

I just want to relay some compliments regarding some of the Boyne Mountain service staff. We skied at the Mountain last Friday, March 1st, 2019. We experienced some great customer service to resolve an issue. My positive feedback would like to reward Joelle, Devin, and Abby at the ski school counter for a job well done. We had a great day of skiing due mainly to these individuals.
